In a remarkable display of dedication to gender equality and technological advancement, the Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) successfully hosted its 17th annual She Creates Camp in Lagos, Nigeria.
This two-week residential program, held from August 4th to 17th, brought together 19 enthusiastic girls from across Lagos State, providing a unique opportunity for them to explore the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).
The She Creates Camp is designed to bridge the gap between girls and technology, fostering a community of young innovators equipped to tackle real-world challenges. By offering hands-on training in cutting-edge fields such as Artificial Intelligence, electronics, and software innovation, W.TEC empowers girls to become creators, rather than mere consumers, of technology.
Throughout the camp, participants engaged in interactive sessions, workshops, and team-building exercises, guided by experienced facilitators and industry experts. Career-talk sessions with leading women in ICT and business provided valuable insights, inspiring the girls to pursue careers in STEAM fields.

Excursions to Wecyclers Collection and Recycling Centre and Sonnex Packaging Nigeria Ltd. offered a glimpse into the practical applications of technology in environmental sustainability and manufacturing.
