NAFDAC Destroys N10 Billion Worth Of Substandard Products In Gombe

In a bold move to protect Nigerian consumers, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has publicly destroyed counterfeit products valued at N10 billion in the Northeast zone.

At the destruction exercise in Gombe State, NAFDAC’s Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, emphasized the agency’s unwavering commitment to eliminating substandard and unwholesome products from Nigerian markets.

“NAFDAC remains steadfast in its pursuit of safeguarding public health through rigorous standards, innovative practices, and international collaboration,” Adeyeye stated, underscoring the agency’s dedication to promoting quality and safety.

The destroyed products, including expired and fake food, drugs, and other regulated items, were seized by NAFDAC’s regulatory and enforcement officers. These counterfeit goods posed a significant threat to public health, with potential harm to countless individuals in the region.
