The Nigeria’s Super Eagles have received a very significant boost in their Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign. The Confederation of African Football has awarded them three whole points and three goals from their aborted match against Libya.

This decisive ruling resulted from Libya’s Football Federation violating regulations. They breached Article 31 of Africa Cup of Nations Regulations and Articles 82 and 151 of CAF’s Disciplinary Code.

So, this has caused the Libya Football Federation a great deal. The federation faces a $50,000 fine, payable within 60 days.

So, right now, Nigeria leads Group A with 10 points from four matches, surpassing Benin Republic by four points and Rwanda by five. Libya trails with one point, nearing elimination.

This development has significantly enhanced Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. A win or draw against Benin Republic on November 14 will secure their spot.

The Super Eagles’ prospects look bright, bolstered by this favorable ruling. Their journey to Morocco’s finals is within reach.
