HIGHSTONE Global University (HGU), Texas USA, is set to hold its 2024 International conference and awards ceremony in Nigeria.
The conference which is scheduled to hold on the 7th of December 2024 in Asaba, Delta state and in Lagos simultaneously would also honour individuals from Nigeria, United States and the United Kingdom who have demonstrated exceptional excellence and commitment to progress across various industries.
A release signed and made available to the media by the President of HGU Prof. Maurice
Odiete, explained that the event would come under the theme, “trailblazers of change: celebrating visionaries and pioneers of progress and human development.’’
According to the statement: “The conference promises to be an enriching experience, with a lineup of distinguished speakers and awardees that have made significant contributions to their respective fields.

In his words: “On that day we would celebrate these trailblazers of change and explore the importance of good governance and community development in driving progress and human development’’.
Giving a brief history of the university, the Africa Vice Chancellor of HIGHSTONE Global University Texas USA, Prof. Valentine Iheukwumere in the statement stated that the institution which was established some years back aimed to contribute towards development of the educational sector in the country.
The release therefore reads in parts: “HGU collaborates with affiliates colleges and universities via our software platform and brings together future leaders to develop solutions to challenging issues. We help students cultivate impactful learning which is all–inclusive and all accessible.’’.
Individuals to receive the awards include; Shaun Tett from the United Kingdom who is a multi-disciplined engineering, construction and commissioning professional with over 39 years exploration and production experience within all phases of upstream and downstream oil and gas project.
Tett is also facilities Engineer at Oryx Petroleum in Erbil, Kurdistan (Northern Iraq), Lead ICSS Engineer at Novarka in Slavutych, Ukraine, Senior Project Engineer at Addax Petroleum in Geneva, Gabon and Nigeria.
The United States University would also award Lon Mahan from Texas USA. Mahan is the executive leader excelling in multi-country management, project leadership, and business development.
He is an accomplished and highly versatile international executive with over four decades career of increased responsibilities of driving and improving the oil, gas and power industry.
He is the Managing Director of Compass O&G Consulting in Dubai, UAE, Plant Manager at Odyssea Power Systems, Inc. in Dominican Republic, Chief Operating Officer at IGPES Group, Nigeria.
Captain Warredi Enisuoh is also among those to be awarded during the event.
Enisuoh is a dual citizen of Nigeria/Australia as well as the Executive Director, (Operations and Technical) of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.
He is a former Search and Rescue Officer of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) and Director of Shipping Development at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Dr. Toyin O. Agbolayah JP, Special Adviser to the Governor, Community Development, Delta State would also be honoured.
Another awardee at the event is Prince Mudiaga Eruophe, a professional with deep-seated commitment to the Oil and Gas industry,
Engr. Michael Uzochukwu Okaekwu, R. would not be left out as he will also be awarded at the event.
Okaekwu is the Supply Chain Manager of First Hydrocarbon Nigeria Limited
Another awardee during the ceremony is Mrs. Ogochuku Okekpolo.
Okekpolo is the UN Eminent Ambassador and Global Gender Priority Strategist as well as the current Executive Director of Corporate Services at Bicens Resources Ltd.
Engr. Emmanuel Chukwuka Mormah, a seasoned engineer, academic and project expert with expertise in electrical engineering, power systems and community development is also among those to be awarded at the event.
It is interesting to note that Mormah is presently the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Delta State on Community Development.
On the list of awardees is Mrs. Avwunudiogba Ogechi Eugenia- FCCA, a professional chartered accountant, and member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CITN).
She is also the Managing Partner Oge9 Solutions Ltd, and the Chief Executive Officer of Adda Table Water, Delta State.
Other awardees are; Mr. Ifukor Uchechuku, the Corporate Community Relations Manager, Seplat Energy PLC.; Engr. Mathew Chidiebere Chibueze, Chief Executive Officer of Luthermario Construction Ltd; Engr. Adhekovwigho Emuejevoke, the QA/QC Manager – SPDC of Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT); Prince Mudiaga an oil and gas professional; Mrs. Joy Zeluwa Sotunde, Manager/Team Lead Distributor systems, Strong and Retail Infrastructure (DSSRI) NMDPRA; Imadojemu Ehitare Basil, Area Business Executive Union Bank Plc.; Ambassador Lucy Okeke, Senior Manager Environmental Management Sustainability; and Dr. Morris Idiovwa, Chairman Bicens Resources Ltd.
A distinguished and visionary leader and relentless advocate for excellence in public administration, Patricia Airennaku Okoebu would also be awarded.
