A group dedicated to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the National Mandate Group (NMG), has denied media reports that it is supporting the party’s governorship candidate in Rivers State, Siminalaye Fubara.
It described as impostors, a group of persons that recently visited Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, and claimed to be NMG members in the State.
The group, in a statement made available to AFLM Correspondent in Port Harcourt, specifically said it has no former National Secretary, but an incumbent National Secretary, who has been in office since the beginning of the group.
The statement was signed by the National Coordinator of the group, Senator Lee Maeba, and National Secretary, Kashim Musa Tumsah.
It reads in part: “The attention of the national secretariat of the National Mandate Group (NMG), has been drawn to widely circulated photographs and stories on social media, of a group of people, masquerading as our Coordinator in Rivers State and led by an imposter, claiming to be the National Secretary of National Mandate Group.
“The persons are said to have paid a solidarity visit to His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, to affirm their loyalty and support to PDP gubernatorial candidate in Rivers State.

“The National Mandate Group wishes to categorically state that the group of persons that visited Governor Wike aren’t known to the National Mandate Group and are just a group of imposters that are using our greatly recognized organisation for deception and personal financial interests
“The National Mandate Group has had only one National Secretary since inception and he’s still the substantive National Secretary, hence, anyone parading himself as a former National Secretary of the National Mandate Group is just a delusional impostor, trying to mislead Governor Wike and the unsuspecting public.”
