Former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika and Daughter to Face EFCC Charges Over Alleged Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has readied indictments against Nigeria’s former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, his daughter Fatimah, and two additional suspects, with a court appearance scheduled for Thursday, May 9, 2024.

The allegations stem from a supposed N2.7 billion contract fraud that occurred during Sirika’s ministerial term. The accused are faced with charges that they leveraged their roles for illicit financial gains amounting to N2.7 billion.

The legal proceedings will take place at the Federal High Court in Abuja, overseen by Justice Sylvanus Oriji. The indictment brings significant scrutiny to the operations within the Aviation Ministry during Sirika’s tenure.
