Dialogue in Nairobi Focuses on Advancing Africa’s Unified Digital Market

Government ICT representatives from across Africa, along with international figures and experts, have convened in Nairobi to formulate strategies that allow for the free flow of data across national borders without compromising privacy and security.

In the wake of the Paradigm Initiative’s 2023 Londa report, critical challenges hindering digital progress in Africa were highlighted, including internet shutdowns, data protection issues, disinformation, cybersecurity threats, surveillance, and limitations on freedom of expression and information.

This discourse aims to address the myriad of challenges confronting Africa’s digital landscape and spearhead a cohesive approach to establishing a single digital market on the continent.
