President Tinubu Commissions Abuja Metro Rail, declares 7 Months Free Service

As a gesture celebrating his first year in office, President Bola Tinubu has announced that rides on the Abuja Rail Transport System will be free of charge until the close of the current year.

The declaration followed the project’s inauguration in Abuja yesterday, Wednesday, where President Tinubu commended Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike for ensuring the project’s expedited completion.

Initially, Minister Wike communicated that the Abuja Light Rail would be open to the public without charge for the initial two months. This statement was made during a ministerial briefing in Abuja, noting the directive as a component of the president’s goal to revive optimism among FCT residents.
