Nigeria Police Force Appoints Longe As First Female Secretary

Breaking new ground within the hierarchy of the Nigeria Police Force, Police Chief Kayode Egbetokun has appointed Assistant Inspector General Yetunde Longe as the inaugural female Force Secretary. This historic appointment underscores the Force’s commitment to fostering gender inclusivity and equality across all dimensions of its operations and appointments.

Force Public Relations Officer Olumuiya Adejobi, in a statement, highlighted Longe’s significant contributions and dedication, which have set her apart within the service.

With an academic background in Forensic Toxicology, Longe’s career is marked by her engagement in high-level training programs, including the Advanced Detective Course and Intermediate Command Course at Police Staff College Jos, as well as the Protection of Civilians course in Italy.

Longe’s career trajectory through the Nigeria Police Force has seen her occupy pivotal roles. Her previous positions include serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department in both Lagos and Bauchi.
