A devastating auto crash at Imawa town along the Zaria-Kano highway in Kura Local Government Area of Kano State has claimed the lives of at least 14 individuals, according to reports.
Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, confirmed the incident, stating that the tragedy unfolded when a truck bearing registration number MKA 537 XN collided with pedestrians who were returning from Juma’at prayers. Regrettably, 14 individuals lost their lives at the scene of the accident.
Abdullahi expressed, “We received a distress call at about 01:50 p.m. on June 28, 2024. Upon receiving the information, we promptly dispatched our personnel and vehicle to the accident site. The FRSC remains dedicated to promoting road safety and urges all road users to strictly adhere to traffic regulations to prevent such tragic and avoidable incidents.”
He extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and assured that investigations would be conducted to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic crash.
