FG Moves To Combat Food Insecurity, Distributes 740 Trucks Of Rice

In a groundbreaking effort to combat food insecurity and ensure every Nigerian has access to this staple food, the Federal Government of Nigeria has embarked on an unprecedented rice distribution campaign.

The government has distributed a whopping 740 trucks of rice to the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. Each state, including the FCT, received 20 trucks of rice, with each truck containing 1,200 25kg bags of rice.

This translates to a staggering 17,600,000 kilograms or 17,600 metric tons of rice distributed across the nation.

The rice distribution is aimed at the most vulnerable populations in Nigeria, including low-income households, widows and orphans, people living with disabilities, and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The government is dedicated to ensuring that every Nigerian has food on their table and is working tirelessly to address the food crisis in the country.

In addition to the rice distribution, the government is also taking concrete steps to boost agricultural productivity and enhance crop yields across the country.

This initiative aims to create a sustainable food system that benefits all Nigerians, particularly the most vulnerable populations.
