Whatsapp Plans To End Support For Older Phone Models

WhatsApp has announced that it will no longer support certain phone models starting in summer 2024.

This decision affects various popular gadget brands, including Samsung, Motorola, Huawei, Apple, Sony, and LG. Users are advised to check the list of incompatible devices to see if their phones are affected and consider upgrading to continue using WhatsApp securely.

The affected devices include older models such as the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus, Motorola Moto G, and iPhone models 5, 6, and SE. WhatsApp recommends using devices running Android 5.0 or later or iOS 12 or above.

This development highlights the rapid growth of technology and the need for users to stay up-to-date with their devices to access key services like WhatsApp.

However, some users are concerned about the potential security threats and exclusivity issues that may arise from dropping support for older models.

Unsupported devices may be more vulnerable to security risks, and users may encounter issues interacting with friends and family who still use WhatsApp.

On the other hand, WhatsApp believes that supporting outdated models may limit the app’s ability to evolve and deliver new features that require more modern hardware.

As the digital era progresses, it is crucial for users to stay informed about updates and maintain compatibility with the latest software and applications to ensure a secure and inclusive experience.
