Onanuga Urges Obi To Proceed With N5.Billion Lawsuit

In a bold and unyielding response, Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Communications and Strategy, has dared Peter Obi to proceed with his threatened N5 billion lawsuit.

Obi’s lawyer, Alex Ejesieme, had issued a 72-hour ultimatum demanding a retraction and apology for Onanuga’s claim that Obi and his supporters were behind the planned nationwide strike against the government.

Onanuga, refusing to back down, took to his official X handle to express his readiness for a legal showdown, saying: “I am still waiting for the letter from Peter Obi’s lawyer threatening a N5 billion suit and demanding an apology… Let me just tell Obi and his lawyer: ‘I am not afraid of any legal action. We shall meet in court.'”

This defiant statement underscores Onanuga’s confidence in his assertion and his willingness to defend it in court.

The impending lawsuit promises to be a high-stakes battle between two prominent figures in Nigerian politics, with Onanuga’s refusal to apologize or retract his statement setting the stage for a dramatic and potentially explosive legal confrontation.

As the clock ticks down on Obi’s ultimatum, all eyes are on the next move in this unfolding drama.
