IGP Egbetokun Announces Involvement Of Foreign Mercenaries In Proposed August 1 Protest

In a shocking revelation, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has disclosed that foreign mercenaries are involved in the planned August 1 protest, citing credible intelligence sources.

This bombshell announcement has raised concerns about the true intentions behind the nationwide demonstration, which has been touted as a response to Nigeria’s economic woes.

As the protest’s organizers remain unknown, the IGP’s warning has sparked fears of a potential hijacking by nefarious elements.

The police chief cautioned that the timing of the protest may be inappropriate, given the country’s sensitive situation.

Egbetokun emphasized that while Nigerians have the constitutional right to peaceful assembly, the police will remain vigilant and provide security to prevent any untoward incidents.

The IGP’s statement echoes the concerns of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, federal and state governments, religious, and traditional authorities, who have all urged the youths to call off the protest.

The military and Department of State Services have also warned of signs that the protest could be exploited for violent purposes.

With tensions running high, the IGP’s revelation has raised questions about the true motives behind the protest and the potential for foreign interference in Nigeria’s internal affairs.

As the clock ticks closer to August 1, the nation holds its breath, wondering what the future holds.
