Adegboruwa Announces Venues For August Planned Protest

In a significant development, human rights lawyer and protest organizer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), has disclosed the venues for the upcoming nationwide protests against economic hardship.

During a virtual meeting with Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, Adegboruwa revealed the specific locations where Nigerians will gather to express their grievances.

According to Adegboruwa, “the time has come for Nigerians to rise up and demand better living conditions, and we have identified strategic locations across the country where our voices will be heard.”

He listed the venues as Eagles Square in Abuja, Alausa Park in Lagos, Rosewale Filling Station in Ibadan, Freedom Park in Oshogbo, and other locations in Bauchi, Benin City, Maiduguri, Damaturu, and Rivers state.

Adegboruwa emphasized that “these venues are not exhaustive, as more states are expected to join the protest, and we will continue to update the list accordingly.”

He also requested police protection for the protesters, stating that “we want to ensure a peaceful and orderly protest, and we believe that the police will provide the necessary support.”

The hunger protest, scheduled to hold from August 1 to 10, has generated mixed reactions from politicians and security agencies, with some warning against violent protests and others appealing to youths to shelve the planned rallies.

However, Adegboruwa remains resolute, saying that “we will not be deterred, and we will continue to demand better living conditions for Nigerians.”
