FG Launches Initiative To Empower Niger Delta Youths

In a bid to address the economic challenges facing the Niger Delta region, the federal government has launched a comprehensive Youth Internship Scheme aimed at empowering 10,000 youths from the Niger Delta region.

This innovative program, spearheaded by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), is designed to equip beneficiaries with valuable skills and provide them with a monthly stipend of N50,000.

According to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, “This initiative is a testament to President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to the development and growth of the Niger Delta region.”

Akpabio emphasized that the program is tailored to “improve the skills of our young people and provide them with opportunities for growth and development.”

During the launch in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, Akpabio urged the youths and people of the Niger Delta region to “shun the planned protests and give President Tinubu’s administration a chance to deliver on its promises.”

He assured them that the government is “committed to addressing the economic challenges facing the region and improving the standard of living for our people.”

The NDDC has also inaugurated five flagship projects covering roads, bridges, and electricity across the region, following a presidential directive.

This move is expected to further boost economic growth and development in the Niger Delta region.

Furthermore, the federal government has established centers where Nigerians can purchase a 50kg bag of rice for ₦40,000.

According to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, “This is just the beginning of many initiatives aimed at reducing the prices of food items and improving the standard of living for Nigerians.”
