Rivers Govt Denies APC’s Allegations Of Masterminding Billboard Vandalisation

The Rivers State Government has vehemently denied allegations made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that it orchestrated a protest to vandalize a billboard at the party’s state office in Port Harcourt on Monday.

Commissioner for Information Joe Johnson dismissed the claims as unfounded and emphasized that the Governor Siminalayi Fubara-led administration is focused on governing the state and has no interest in such actions.

Johnson highlighted Governor Fubara’s engagement with protesters on the first day of the demonstration, which helped ease tensions in the state, and criticized the Tony Okocha-led APC Caretaker Committee in Rivers State as factional and driven by personal ambition.

He suggested that Okocha and his supporters are frustrated because their attempts to use mercenaries to disrupt the state’s peace have failed.

The commissioner asserted that destructive actions are not characteristic of Governor Fubara or his administration, implying that the APC’s allegations are a desperate response from a dwindling faction.

The Rivers State Government’s denial of the allegations comes as a strong rebuttal to the APC’s claims, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining peace and order in the state.
