Nigerian Activist Calls NLC, TUC For 2-Day Nationwide Strike In Support Of Ongoing #EndBadGovernance Protests

Comrade Hassan Taiwo Soweto, a prominent organizer of the ‘End Bad Governance in Nigeria’ protest, has urged the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to declare a 48-hour general strike.

This call to action follows the reported invasion of the NLC headquarters in Abuja by Nigerian security forces, who allegedly ransacked the building and confiscated materials.

Soweto’s appeal for a labour-powered mass protest emphasizes the need for collective action against the government’s handling of the ongoing anti-hardship protests.

The NLC has already condemned the invasion of their office, and Soweto’s call for a general strike may resonate with those seeking to amplify their demands for change.

As the situation unfolds, the prospect of a general strike looms large, potentially bringing even greater attention to the protesters’ grievances.

With tensions running high, the government’s response to these developments will be crucial in determining the trajectory of the protests and the fate of the nation.
