President Tinubu Arrives Nigeria From Official Visit To Equatorial Guinea

President Bola Tinubu has arrived back in Abuja after a successful three-day official visit to Equatorial Guinea, his 22nd foreign trip since taking office.

The president’s Gulfstream jet touched down at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 6:30 pm yesterday.

During his visit, President Tinubu and his Equatorial Guinean counterpart, Teodoro Mbasogo, signed a landmark agreement on the Gulf of Guinea Pipeline Project, strengthening the partnership between the two nations.

The agreement covers key aspects of the gas pipeline, including legislative and regulatory measures, establishment and operation, transit of natural gas, ownership, and general principles.

President Tinubu emphasized the significance of the agreement, stating that it would create new opportunities for gas exploration and employment.

He also highlighted discussions with President Mbasogo on critical issues such as conflict resolution, employment, food security, multilateral relations, and security challenges.

At a dinner hosted in his honor, President Tinubu urged African leaders to address the exodus of skills and talent from the continent.

He stressed the need to stem tribalism, reward performance, and reform archaic judicial systems to promote peace, stability, and progress.

The president’s visit to Equatorial Guinea marks his seventh trip to an African country, demonstrating his commitment to strengthening regional partnerships and promoting Africa’s development.
