Flood Victims In Adamawa Receive Medical Supplies

In a bid to alleviate the suffering of flood victims in Adamawa State, a non-governmental organization, Grassroot Life Saving Outreach, has donated essential drugs and medical supplies to those affected in three local government areas.

The donation, worth millions of naira, includes reproductive health drugs, medical consumables, water sanitation, and hygiene kits. The items were presented during the launch of the project, “Provision of Lean Season Essential Community Health Services,” in Yola.

The project aims to provide support to over 20 hard-to-reach communities in Yola South and Madagali local government areas, with a focus on preventing and managing disease outbreaks, promoting sexual reproductive health, and providing WASH services.

Officials from the World Health Organization, Adamawa State Ministry of Health, and UNICEF attended the launch, which marked the beginning of the distribution of the medical supplies to flood victims.

The intervention comes as a relief to the affected communities, which have been struggling to cope with the aftermath of the flooding. The donation is expected to help contain any health emergencies resulting from the disaster.
