Haruna Dayaya Emerges As New Emir Of Ningi

In a move to fill the void left by the late Emir Yunusa Danyaya, the Bauchi State Government has appointed Haruna Dayaya as the 17th Emir of Ningi.

This decision, announced by the Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mukhtar Gidado, comes after the approval of Governor Bala Mohammed.

According to Gidado, “This decision is in exercising the powers conferred on him (the governor) by Cap. 24 Item 3 (1 ) of the laws of Bauchi State of Nigeria (Appointment of Emirs / Chiefs and Deposition 1991) and the recommendation of the kingmakers.”

The new Emir, Haruna Dayaya, is the eldest son of the late Emir and was born in Ningi in 1956. He is the immediate past Chiroman Ningi, and his appointment is seen as a continuation of his father’s legacy.

His legacy is expected to continue through his son, Haruna Dayaya, who is now tasked with fostering unity, peace, and development in the Ningi emirate and Bauchi state as a whole.
