Fire Consumes Katsina Govt. House, Destroys Red Chamber

A catastrophic fire swept through the Katsina Government House on Monday morning, leaving a trail of destruction and despair in its wake.

The revered “red chamber”, a symbol of power and prestige, was reduced to smoldering ruins, as the inferno ravaged the very heart of the state’s governance.

“I saw a fire service truck rushing in,” recounted Alhaji Bashir, a witness who lives nearby, his voice still shaking with the shock of what he witnessed.

“I was in my house as early as 6 am after prayers, a fire service truck rushed into the Government House, and I later learnt there was an inferno inside the red chamber where Governor Dikko used to host guests.” His words evoke the chaos and confusion that gripped the community as the fire took hold.

As the people of Katsina struggle to come to terms with the scale of the devastation, questions swirl around the cause of the fire.

Was it a tragic accident, a spark of negligence, or a deliberate act of arson? The investigation is ongoing, but one thing is certain, the scars of this inferno will leave a lasting impact on the community, and the very fabric of the state’s governance.
