Gunmen Kidnapp PDP Chieftain, Akika In Oyo State

A disturbing incident has unfolded in Oyo State, as prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Benedict Akika was kidnapped by heavily armed gunmen on Wednesday night.

The kidnapping occurred at his residence in Olorunda, Lagelu Local Government Area, leaving his family and community in a state of shock.

According to a family source, the gunmen stormed Akika’s residence, threatening to shoot anyone who resisted.

“There was a sporadic gunshot aimed at scaring the residents and passersby,” the source revealed. Akika was then whisked away to an unknown destination.

The kidnapped PDP chieftain had recently empowered widows and the less privileged with work tools worth millions of naira, making his abduction even more distressing.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, was unavailable to confirm the incident at the time of reporting.

This disturbing event has raised concerns about the safety and security of political figures in the region, leaving many to wonder about the motivations behind Akika’s kidnapping.
