American Sentenced to 40 Years For Murdering CEO Of Gokada Nigeria

In a significant milestone, Tyrese Haspil, a 25-year-old American, has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for the gruesome murder of Fahim Saleh, the visionary founder and CEO of Nigerian transportation company Gokada. This conviction brings a sense of closure to the family and loved ones of Saleh, who was brutally killed by his former executive assistant in July 2020.

The sentencing follows a thorough investigation and a guilty verdict by a New York State Supreme Court jury two months ago, where Haspil was convicted of first-degree murder, second-degree grand larceny, and other charges. The prosecution presented overwhelming evidence of Haspil’s premeditated plan to silence Saleh, who had discovered his embezzlement scheme.

Haspil’s actions were driven by greed and a desire to conceal his criminal activities. He had been embezzling thousands of dollars from Saleh’s accounts, using fake financial statements to cover his tracks.

When Saleh confronted him, Haspil saw murder as the only way to avoid accountability.
Fahim Saleh’s legacy extends far beyond his entrepreneurial achievements.

He was a passionate advocate for Nigeria’s youth and believed in harnessing technology to transform lives. Gokada, the company he founded, has continued to grow and thrive, a testament to his vision and dedication.

As Haspil begins his prison sentence, we remember Fahim Saleh’s remarkable life and the impact he had on those around him.

May this sentence serve as a deterrent to others and bring solace to those affected by this senseless tragedy.
