Ademola Lookman Emerges Atalanta’s ‘Player Of The Season”

Ademola Lookman, the Nigerian forward, has secured the prestigious title of Atalanta B.C.’s Player of the Season for the 2023/24 season, successfully retaining his crown from the previous year.

In a fiercely contested battle that required an additional runoff and even featured an Instagram profile showdown following a tie in the initial session, Lookman emerged victorious.

His impressive performance, marked by 17 goals and 11 crucial assists across all competitions, positioned him as the team’s second-highest scorer and provider of assists, solidifying his claim to the esteemed ItalianOptic branded accolade.

A standout moment in his triumph was his hat-trick in the “magical Dublin final.”

The club statement on Thursday via its website exclaimed, “It’s him again, Ademola Lookman!”

The second and third spots on the podium were secured by midfield stalwarts Éderson and Teun Koopmeiners, respectively.

Éderson, despite narrowly missing out on the top spot, presented a formidable challenge. The Brazilian midfielder’s remarkable consistency across 52 matches was commended, with the club acknowledging, “Surely an award to the consistency and perseverance showcased, match in and match out.”

His impact extended beyond his usual role, with seven goals in all competitions adding depth to his performance.

Koopmeiners, a consistent presence on the ItalianOptic podium throughout the season, clinched the bronze medal.

The Dutch midfielder’s significant contribution was highlighted by the club, emphasizing his extensive playing time, “3930 minutes played in over 51 games as a further testament to his dedication.”

His impressive 22-goal tally (15 goals and 7 assists) across all competitions underscored his value to the team, particularly excelling in away games with “12 goals scored away from Bergamo.”

The statement extended congratulations to Lookman for his remarkable achievement, stating, “Kudos to Mola for securing his back-to-back Player of the Season title.”
