Bandits Attack 150 Locals In Zamfara, Kill Three, Kidnap Babies

A devastating attack by bandits has left the Dan Isa community in Kauran Namoda local government area of Zamfara State reeling, with at least 150 locals, including newborn babies, kidnapped. The bandits also killed three locals and rustled all the cows and other animals in the community, leaving the village deserted.

According to a survivor, the hoodlums “killed three locals and rustled all the cows and other animals in the community.” The attack has sent shockwaves through the community, with many residents fleeing in fear.

The Zamfara State Police Command, however, is yet to receive information about the kidnap, according to Mr. Yazid Abubakar, the command’s spokesperson. “I am yet to receive information about the kidnap,” he said.

Bandits Attack 150 Locals In Zamfara, Kill Three, Kidnap Babies

This brazen attack is the latest in a string of kidnappings and banditry in Zamfara State, with over 30 people abducted in the Maradun Local Government Area just last week. The bandits have also imposed levies on several communities, demanding almost N150 million before allowing residents to access their farmlands.

The people of Zamfara State are living in fear, and the government must take immediate action to address this growing crisis. As one resident lamented, “We are living in a state of fear, and we don’t know what will happen next.”

The authorities must act swiftly to bring the perpetrators to justice and restore peace to the region.
