Bandits Killed Abducted Sokoto Monarch Over Unpaid Ransom

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, the abducted district head of Gatawa, Alhaji Muhammad Bawa, has lost his life in captivity due to the non-payment of the ransom demanded by his abductors.

The 74-year-old monarch, who was kidnapped alongside his son and six others about 25 days ago, had appealed to the Sokoto State Government, the Sultanate Council, his relatives, and friends to help secure his release.
