Chinese Ambassador Commits To Implementing China-Nigeria Agreements

The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, has pledged to ensure the implementation of the Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) signed during President Bola Tinubu’s recent state visit to China.

The agreements aim to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations.

Ambassador Dunhai emphasized the importance of turning the agreements into tangible results, stating that both countries are preparing for a busy period of collaboration.

He highlighted the historic significance of President Tinubu’s visit, which marked an elevation of bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

The MOUs cover various areas, including:

  • High-quality Belt and Road cooperation planning.
  • Implementation of the Global Development Initiative.
  • Economic growth and human resources.
  • Application of the Beidou Satellite.
  • Navigation System.
  • Export of peanuts to China.
  • Media exchanges.

The Chinese Ambassador expressed optimism about working with various Nigerian sectors to drive implementation, noting that the cooperation goes beyond government-to-government relations, with additional partnerships likely forming between companies and local departments.
