Daughter Of Chief Obafemi Awolowo Recounts His Life, Legacy

In a poignant and introspective interview yesterday, Dr. Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosumu, daughter of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, shared personal anecdotes and reflections on her father’s life, his passing, and the enduring legacy he left behind.

Speaking from the Awolowo family home in Ikenne, she recounted the traumatic day of his death in 1987 and the profound impact it had on her life.

Awolowo-Dosumu described her father as a devoted parent, yet deeply committed to his mission of serving Nigeria.

She fondly remembered special sessions where he would impart life lessons and philosophies to his children. His mystical nature, passion for learning, and humility were also highlighted as key aspects of his personality.
