Edo Announces Prof. Samuel Olowo As VC Of Ambrose Ali University

In a significant development, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, has announced the appointment of Prof. Samuel Olowo as the new acting Vice-Chancellor.

This decision was made by the newly inaugurated Governing Council, marking a new chapter in the institution’s leadership.

The outgoing acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sonnie Adagbonyin, announced his decision to step aside, stating, “On Wednesday, August 28th, 2024, the Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University announced a transition plan towards the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor for the university.”

He expressed his gratitude to Governor Godwin Obaseki, saying, “I want to thank Governor Godwin Obaseki, for the opportunity given me to serve…”

Prof. Adagbonyin also acknowledged the support of the Commissioner of Education, Dr. Joan Oviawe, and his colleagues, saying, “Profound gratitude to you my colleagues in the education sub-sector, from whom I learnt so much. I thank you all for the warmth of your friendship and the undiluted camaraderie.”

As Prof. Olowo, the Provost of the College of Medicine, takes over as the acting Vice-Chancellor, the university community looks forward to his leadership and expertise in navigating the institution’s future.

This transition marks a significant milestone in the university’s journey towards achieving its goals and aspirations.
