Edo Decides 2024: APC Takes Lead As Tension Builds

The Edo State governorship election has reached a fever pitch, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerging as the front-runner in the initial results. As of September 22, 2024, the APC has garnered 244,549 votes, ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 195,954 votes and the Labour Party (LP) trailing with 13,348 votes.

These preliminary results, announced at the collation center in Benin City, represent 16 out of the 18 local government areas. The remaining two areas are yet to be collated, with the exercise suspended until 5 pm today.
