Emirates Airlines Set to Resume Daily Flights In Nigeria from October 1st.

Emirates Airlines has announced its return to Nigerian skies with daily flights resuming from October 1, 2024, as confirmed in a recent statement issued on Thursday.

The announcement detailed the introduction of daily flights connecting Lagos to Dubai utilizing the airline’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Prospective travelers can now secure their tickets through the Emirates website or through travel agencies.

Adnan Kazim, the Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airlines, expressed enthusiasm over the service relaunch, saying, “Nigeria has always been a key market for us with a strong customer base. We are thrilled to reconnect both leisure and business travelers from Nigeria with Dubai, and look forward to facilitating their travel to other destinations within our global network.”

Nigeria’s Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo with Emirates Chief Adnan Kazim continued, “We are grateful to the Nigerian authorities for their cooperation and support in reinstating our Nigerian routes, and we eagerly await the return of our passengers onboard.”

The airline previously suspended its operations from Dubai to Lagos in 2022 when it encountered difficulties in repatriating funds from Nigeria, leading to heightened diplomatic tensions.

Following the inauguration of President Bola Tinubu, a meeting took place with the United Arab Emirates President, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi, aimed at resolving the bilateral tensions, paving the way for the resumption of the airline’s operations.
