FG Subsidizes Cost Of Rice To Public Servants, Sells Bag Of Rice For N40,000

In a bid to mitigate the harsh effects of the current food crisis in Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government has unveiled an innovative initiative aimed at providing subsidized rice to public servants.

This strategic move is designed to alleviate the economic burden on civil servants and ensure their well-being amidst the prevailing economic challenges.

The Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs has announced that 50kg bags of rice will be sold to public servants at a highly subsidized rate of N40,000 per bag.

This generous offer is exclusively available to public civil servants, who are required to complete a Google form on the OHCSF website and submit it to the director of human resources for endorsement.

To ensure a seamless and transparent distribution process, designated officials will coordinate the payment and distribution of the rice.

Furthermore, the chairman of the Joint Union Council of the ministry will serve as an observer to guarantee the integrity of the process.

This groundbreaking initiative is a testament to the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens, particularly public servants, who are the backbone of the nation’s civil service.

By providing affordable access to a staple food item like rice, the government aims to cushion the effects of the economic downturn and promote the overall well-being of its workforce.
