Gunmen Murdered Police Officer In Imo, Set Station On Fire

Gunmen have unleashed a reign of terror in Imo State, killing a police officer and razing a police station.

The attack occurred at NEPA Junction, Umulogho, Obowo Local Government Area, where the officer was dragged from his room and killed.

ASP Henry Okoye, Police Public Relations Officer, vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice, saying “We will apprehend the perpetrators of this crime and make them face the full weight of the law.”

The gunmen returned the next morning to raze the Otoko Divisional police station, leaving a trail of destruction and chaos. Two security guards were also killed at Umuelemai, in Isiala Mbano Local Government, with vehicles burned on the premises.

The police have deployed a tactical team to the area to ensure the protection of lives and property.
