Kaduna Chef Oxman Francis Breaks World Record, Cooks For 50 Hours Non-Stop

In an extraordinary display of culinary endurance, Kaduna-based chef Oxman Francis has shattered the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking lesson in Kaduna, clocking an impressive 50 hours of non-stop cooking.

From 7:18 pm on September 17 to 9:18 pm on September 19, Chef Francis cooked tirelessly at the Ahmed Musa Neighbourhood Centre, defying fatigue and rain to achieve his record-breaking goal. The event drew support from Kaduna residents, celebrities, and culinary experts who gathered to cheer him on.

Addressing a press conference, Francis revealed that his passion for cooking drove him to apply for the Guinness World Record. “It was challenging, yet encouraging,” he said. “One needs passion and the right mindset.”

Francis, who has taught over 800 students about the “10 Commandments of Food” over four years, aimed to instill knowledge and promote peace and unity through his culinary marathon. The event brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering camaraderie and cultural exchange.

“It was fulfilling to see students from Maiduguri, Sokoto, Katsina, Jos, Abuja, and Zaria come together, share stories, and learn new skills,” Francis said. “The North is breaking barriers, and I plan to organize similar events across the region to promote peace through culinary events.”

The Kaduna State Government’s support was instrumental in Francis’ success. He expressed gratitude for their assistance, acknowledging that it contributed significantly to his achievement.
