Lagos Gov. Gives LASU Best Graduating Student N10.m

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has bestowed a monetary gift of N10 million upon Olawale Mubarak Olaniyi, who emerged as the best graduating student at Lagos State University (LASU).

This generous act was revealed during the 27th convocation ceremony’s grand finale, held in Lagos today, Thursday.

Confirming the governor’s gesture, his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril Gawat, reported that Governor Sanwo-Olu presented the prize to Olawale in the convocation ceremony on June 6, 2024.

The governor praised Olawale’s exceptional performance and commended his educational achievements, notably his impressive 4.98 CGPA in Accounting Education.

“BIG NEWS: Lagos State’s Governor Mr. #jidesanwoolu has generously announced a grant of N10m for the top student graduating overall from Lagos State University (#LASUOfficial), Olaniyi Mubaraq Olawale, for his extraordinary accomplishment in Accounting Education, securing a CGPA of 4.98.

“Gov. Sanwo-Olu disclosed this wonderful news at the closing event of the 27th Convocation Ceremony at LASU today.”

The press statement from LASU lauded the governor’s ongoing support in recognizing academic excellence and incentivizing outstanding academic performers.

In its statement, LASU also highlighted Olaniyi’s remarkable intelligence and the noteworthy achievements he secured during his time at the university.

“Olawale Mubarak Olaniyi has exhibited unwavering commitment, hard work, and unparalleled academic brilliance throughout his educational journey at Lagos State University. His impressive accomplishments stand as a testament to his personal drive for academic excellence and reflect the institution’s high-caliber educational standards and supportive academic atmosphere,” LASU expressed.
