Mother Shares Agonizing Experience Of Medical Malpractice, Demands For Justice

In a heart-wrenching tale of medical malpractice, Okoye Ogochukwu, a devoted mother of three, has shared her agonizing experience at Faith City Hospital in Ajao Estate. Her story is a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of negligence and the unyielding spirit of a mother fighting for justice.

Ogochukwu’s nightmare began with a routine C-section in May 2023, which spiraled into a series of botched surgeries, leaving her with unbearable pain and a severely damaged womb.

The hospital’s response was callous, with her doctor, Ejim Chibike, dismissing her concerns with a flippant remark: “I complained to Dr. Ejim Chibike, but he made a joke about it, saying I should lose weight, that I’m getting fat.”

As her condition worsened, Ogochukwu underwent multiple surgeries, each compounding her suffering.

The hospital’s negligence was compounded by their refusal to take responsibility, offering a paltry N150,000 as compensation for the immense physical, emotional, and financial toll she endured.

With her voice trembling with emotion, Ogochukwu demanded justice, saying: “They caused all this pain and still refused to take responsibility. I want the money they extorted from us returned, and I want a sincere apology for the emotional, financial, and physical agony they put me through.”

Her plea echoes the cries of countless others who have suffered at the hands of medical negligence, seeking accountability and compassion from those sworn to heal.
