Nigeria’s Men’s Relay Team Disqualified From Olympics Amidst Controversy

In a stunning turn of events, the Nigerian men’s 4x400m relay team, consisting of Emmanuel Ojeli, Ezekiel Nathanial, Dubem Amene, and Chidi Okezie, was dealt a devastating blow when they were disqualified from the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Despite delivering a remarkable performance, finishing second in their semi-final heat with a season’s best time of 2:59.81, the team’s dreams of Olympic glory were shattered due to a contentious lane infraction.

The disqualification occurred when Emmanuel Ojeli, during the changeover, inadvertently impeded a South African athlete, prompting the referee to take drastic action.
