After securing top spot in Group B with a game to spare, the team cemented their position with a convincing 86-run win over Malawi.
Captain Lucky Piety’s tactical decision to bat first paid off, as Nigeria posted 147 runs for four wickets.
Malawi’s chase was stifled at 61 runs for 10 wickets in 18.1 overs, with Piety, Peace Usen, and Kehinde Amusa each taking two wickets.

Rwanda, Nigeria’s semifinal opponent, has shown strong form in the tournament.
The winner of the qualifying tournament will secure Africa’s second spot in the World Cup in Malaysia, following South Africa’s qualification.
