NIS Vows To Arrest Diaspora Sponsors Of #EndBadGovernance Protests

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has taken a firm stance against individuals in the diaspora who are sponsoring the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests across the country.

Comptroller General Kemi Nanna Nandap announced during a meeting with top security officials, including the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, that the NIS has placed these sponsors on a watchlist.

Nandap warned that any attempt by these individuals to enter Nigeria would result in their immediate arrest and handover to the relevant authorities.

The NIS has bolstered security measures at borders and airports, deploying additional personnel to prevent unauthorized entry and foreign interference.

The move comes as the #EndBadGovernance protests, which began on August 1, 2024, continue to gain momentum, despite President Bola Tinubu’s recent appeal for calm.

The NIS’s decisive action aims to prevent external influences from exacerbating the situation, ensuring the safety and security of Nigerians.
