NSE Celebrates Kudirat Kekere-Ekun’s Appointment As Chief Justice of Nigeria

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has warmly welcomed the appointment of Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the nation’s new Chief Justice, hailing it as a resounding victory for gender inclusivity in the judiciary and national leadership.

According to NSE President, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, “Justice Kekere-Ekun’s elevation is a testament to her unwavering dedication to upholding the rule of law and her exemplary judicial career, which spans over four decades.” Oguntala expressed deep pride in witnessing another woman ascend to Nigeria’s highest judicial office, following in the footsteps of trailblazer Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar.

“This appointment underscores the growing recognition of women’s invaluable contributions to leadership across all sectors,” Oguntala emphasized. “It symbolizes significant progress in breaking down gender barriers and creating equal opportunities for women to hold influential positions.”

The NSE’s enthusiasm for Justice Kekere-Ekun’s appointment is matched by its commitment to empowering women in the engineering profession. Through platforms like the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), the organization strives to create opportunities for female engineers to thrive.
As Justice Kekere-Ekun assumes her historic role, the NSE and the nation have high expectations for her leadership. “We are confident that she will continue to uphold the highest standards of justice, fairness, and integrity,” Oguntala stated.

With Justice Kekere-Ekun at the helm of the Supreme Court and National Judicial Council, Nigeria is poised to embark on a new era of justice, equality, and progress.
