In a vibrant display of culture and tradition, today, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, 89, was enthroned as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, marking a significant milestone in the region’s rich history.
The grand coronation ceremony took place at the Labosinde compound, a sacred location designated by tradition for the enthronement of Olubadan kings.
The event was graced by an array of distinguished dignitaries, including:
- Former Oyo State Governor Rashidi Ladoja
- The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi
- The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar
Governor Seyi Makinde is expected to officially present the office staff and other paraphernalia to the new monarch at the iconic Mapo Hall coronation venue, solidifying Oba Olakulehin’s position as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
