Onyeka Onwenu’s Goes Home Today In Lagos

Today marks a somber occasion as Nigeria bids a final farewell to its beloved music icon, Onyeka Onwenu.

The “Elegant Stallion” will be laid to rest in Lagos, leaving behind a legacy of timeless music, unforgettable performances, and a nation in mourning.

Onyeka’s passing on July 30, 2024, at the age of 72, sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and beyond.

Her impact on Nigerian music and culture is immeasurable, with a career spanning decades and numerous hits that continue to inspire new generations.

The funeral service which held at 10 am – 12 pm at the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, will be a celebration of Onyeka’s life, followed by a private burial at a vault in Ikoyi.

As fans and loved ones gather to pay their respects, they will remember Onyeka’s remarkable journey, from her early days as a broadcaster and actress to her rise as a music legend and activist.

Onyeka’s family, including her two sons, will cherish the memories of a woman who touched countless lives through her music, passion, and dedication.
