Pastor Adeboye Becomes Patron Of International Christian Council

In a world where religious divisions often dominate the headlines, a beacon of hope has emerged. Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the revered General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has been appointed as the patron of the Ecumenical Synod of Bishops, Archbishops, and Senior Clergy Inc. (ESBAASC).

This prestigious appointment is a testament to Pastor Adeboye’s tireless efforts to foster religious harmony and his unwavering commitment to ecumenism.

The ESBAASC conference, held from August 22-25 at the RCCG Redemption Camp, brought together a diverse group of Christian leaders, united in their quest for religious tolerance and unity.

The theme, “Religious Tolerance in Nigeria and Across the Nations of the World,” resonated deeply with Pastor Adeboye, who has dedicated his life to promoting peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths.

In his address, Pastor Adeboye shared his personal experiences of growing up in a harmonious community, where Christians, Muslims, and adherents of traditional religions lived together in perfect symphony. He lamented the current state of Nigeria, where religious divisions have led to strife and violence.

With his characteristic wisdom and compassion, Pastor Adeboye emphasized that religious diversity should be celebrated as a strength, rather than a weakness.

The conference was a melting pot of ideas, with notable religious leaders sharing their insights on promoting religious tolerance.

Imam Abdul-Azeez Onike, a respected Muslim cleric, warned against the devastating consequences of religious war, citing historical examples of the Holocaust and the 9/11 attacks.

Apostle A.B. Otaru, another prominent Christian leader, emphasized the need for understanding and love for the Creator to achieve religious tolerance.

Pastor Adeboye’s appointment as patron of ESBAASC is a significant milestone in the journey towards religious unity.

His leadership and commitment to ecumenism will undoubtedly inspire others to work towards a more harmonious and peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths.

As a respected voice in the Christian community, Pastor Adeboye’s influence extends far beyond the shores of Nigeria, making his appointment a beacon of hope for a more united and tolerant world.
