Plateau State Announces Discharge Of Five Mpox Patients

In a positive development, the Plateau State government has announced the discharge of five patients who recovered from Monkey Pox, with no active cases currently reported.

The State Epidemiologist, Dr. Job Maren, confirmed that the five cases were recorded in four Local Government Areas, including Jos North, Bokkos, Shendam, and Kanke.

While two suspected cases are still awaiting confirmation, the state government is taking proactive measures to prevent the spread of the disease.

Residents are advised to avoid contact with sick animals, maintain personal hygiene, and report any suspicious cases to the authorities.

Dr. Maren emphasized the importance of prompt medical attention for individuals with unexplained rashes or fever, urging community members to support efforts to contain the outbreak.

The state government’s swift response and public awareness campaigns aim to mitigate the impact of Monkey Pox in Plateau State.
