Police rescue two kidnapped students in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Police has confirmed the rescue of two of the six female students who were abducted from LEA Primary School, Alwaza Village, under Doma Local Government Area of the state.

It was reported that gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked the school in the early hours of Friday morning and whisked away the victims.

The Public Relations Officer in Nasarawa, DSP Ramhan Nansel, who confirmed the rescue of the two students, announced their names as Vision Umbugadu Judge and Peace Amos.

According to the PPRO, the students were rescued at about 2.30pm in Sabon Kwara Village, Jenkwe development area of Obi LGA, Nasarawa State, due to continued pressure mounted on the abductors by the combined search and rescue team.

“The victims have been taken to the hospital for medical examination and shall be handed over to Doma LGA chairman to reunite them with their parents.

“Relentless effort is ongoing to rescue the other pupils still in captivity unhurt, and arrest the perpetrators of the dastardly act,” he said.
