President Tinubu honours Soyinka, Names Abuja Road After Him

In a significant gesture of honor and recognition, Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has announced the naming of a key road in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) after the esteemed Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka. The arterial road N20, extending from the northern parkway to the outer northern expressway (ONEX), has been christened the Wole Soyinka Highway.

The special adviser to the president on communication and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, using the platform X on Tuesday, confirmed that this accolade was at the suggestion of the FCT administration. This commendation comes just ahead of Soyinka’s 90th birthday on July 13, aligning as a tribute to his monumental achievements and contribution to Nigeria and the broader realm of literature.
