President Tinubu Reflects On Nation’s Progress, Outlines Vision On 64th Independence Address

President Bola Tinubu’s Independence Day speech marked a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s history, as he reflected on the nation’s progress and outlined his vision for a prosperous future.

“Fellow Nigerians, as we celebrate our 64th year of independence, I acknowledge the struggles you face and assure you that your voices are heard,” Tinubu emphasized. “We’re committed to finding lasting solutions to alleviate your suffering.”

Tinubu recognized Nigeria’s resilience, citing its ability to overcome crises and remain a united nation. “We’ve survived many challenges, and our diversity is our strength,” he noted.

The President highlighted his administration’s achievements, including:

  • Progress in the war against terrorism and banditry, with over 300 Boko Haram and bandit commanders eliminated.
  • Restoration of peace to hundreds of communities in the North.
  • Foreign direct investments exceeding $30 billion.
  • Stabilization of the foreign exchange market.
  • Reduced debt service ratio from 97% to 68%.
  • Tinubu also announced initiatives aimed at empowering youth, including:
  • A 30-day National Youth Conference to address education, employment, and innovation.
  • The 3 Million Technical Talents program.
  • The Nigerian Education Loan Fund.
  • The Renewed Hope Labour Employment and Empowerment Programme.

“Better days are ahead,” Tinubu assured. “We’ll forge a path toward a brighter future, cultivating a Nigeria that reflects the aspirations of all its citizens.”

He urged Nigerians to believe in their nation’s promise, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective effort.
“Let us work together to build a greater Nigeria, where every citizen can access opportunities and every child can grow up with hope and promise.”
