Professor Pius Olanrewaju Assumes Leadership as CIBN’s New President

The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has welcomed Professor Pius Olanrewaju as its new President and Chairman during a prestigious inauguration ceremony where he received the insignia signifying his leadership.

Accompanying the ceremony were announcements of other key positions, with Dele Alake as the First Vice President, Mojisola Bakare-Asieru as the Second Vice President, and Dr. Peter Ashade as the National Treasurer.

Bello Hassan, the MD and CEO of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), highlighted in his speech the urgent need for reinforced cybersecurity within the banking sector, urging a collaborative effort spearheaded by the CIBN.

In conclusion, he expressed gratitude for legislative advancements aimed at encompassing all banking professionals within the regulatory framework, thereby tightening the sector’s ethical standards, with particular acknowledgment to the Central Bank of Nigeria for its supportive role.
