Protesters In Katsina Wave Russian Flags On Street As Demonstrations Enter Day-5

In a striking display of determination, protesters in Katsina, Nigeria, took to the streets today, August 5, waving Russian flags and chanting “Hunger is killing us” in Hausa, despite President Bola Tinubu’s appeal for calm.

The #EndBadGovernance movement, scheduled to run from August 1 to August 10, has gained momentum, with the use of Russian flags sparking concerns about potential foreign influence.

As the protesters marched through the streets, police fired teargas in an attempt to disperse the crowd, but the demonstrators remained resolute in their demands for change.

The protests come as Nigeria marks 25 years of democratic governance, with President Tinubu warning against allowing “enemies of democracy” to promote an unconstitutional agenda.

The bold display of defiance in Katsina has raised questions about the role of foreign influence in the protests and the government’s response to the growing unrest.

With the situation unfolding, one thing is clear: the people of Nigeria are demanding change, and their voices will not be silenced.
